Now open! 2012 graduate 'AD' Administrator selection procedure

Looking for a challenging position in a dynamic environment?

The European Union is currently facing some major challenges. At the EU Institutions we need the very best staff to help tackle these issues and solve problems which will affect half a billion people – and generations to come.
When we say we need the best, we mean it. We really do need the most talented graduates from across the continent. Our tough, competitive selection procedures are designed to find these people. When you join us, you can expect a stimulating long-term future in a fast-moving international environment. You can choose to focus on:
  • Policy development and implementation ('European Public Administration')
  • Law
  • Audit
  • Communication
  • External relations

Which qualifications and how much professional experience do I need?

If you're just starting your career, then you can apply at our entry level 'AD 5' grade. You'll need to have completed your university studies (of at least 3 years) by the 31st July 2012, so you can apply in your final year of study.
For some profiles (Law, Audit, and Communication) you will need your studies to have been directly linked to the nature of the duties.
If you already have some experience then you should apply at our 'AD 7' level. At this level, if you have completed 3 years of studies (e.g. a BA) then you will need 7 years of relevant professional experience, if you have 4 years of studies (e.g. you have a Masters as well) then 6 years of professional experience is enough.

How do I apply?

Before applying you should ask yourself these sort of questions:
  • Are you at the top of your class at university?
  • Would you pass the recruitment tests of top private sector employers?
  • Would you be successful if applying for top public sector roles, such as in your country's diplomatic service?
  • Are you willing to compete with 50 000 other applicants?
If the answer to these questions is yes, see whether you fit our requirements by reading the job description published in the 'Notice of Competition', together with the 'Guide to open competitions' (these are important documents that contain all the key information). Then apply online in English, in French or in German.
Closing date: 17 April 2012 at 12.00 (midday), Brussels time.
